We made it...

We made it to Fargo, but how many times do you think you can get pulled over in a 10 hour period? For Nick and Laura, it's 2x's!!!
We decided to make a stop on our way up to North Dakota and visit Mount Rushmore (plus it is half way to Fargo so it would work perfect... drive for 10 hours then stay in a hotel and then drive the other 9 hours the next day.) Well the first day turned into 12 hours because I was pulled over by a police that was training and it took like 30 minutes to write me up(It was kind of funny though because he was totally shaking and talking to us like he was reading his script!) Then we did another 30 minute Playland stop at McDonalds.
And lastly when we were an hour away from our hotel, Nick was driving and was pulled over when he started accelerating outside a small town since he saw the new speed limit sign ahead (lame!) However we did talk ourselves out of Nick's but not mine. So before we went and visited Mount Rushmore, Nick made a stop at Wal Mart and bought a radar detector.

Notice the back of our truck... I was so happy we could fit that wagon on top! (We looked a little crazy) I preferred driving while Nick entertained the kids, however this is what would happen....Beckham would end up with granola bar and licorice EVERYWHERE! (look at his bum)
Mount Rushmore was beautiful and Boston and Beckham loved being able to run around. Boston kept asking to 'go on the mountain with the guys faces on it'. We had to keep telling him that you just look at it and not go on it.

We live next door to the manager's family who has 2 daughters that are Boston and Beckham's age. Here is what they have been playing....Kitties. (Boston just goes along with whatever Savannah tells him to do.)

Oh, this kitty needs a bow! (I don't know how long he will let her do this.)

I'm glad you made it safe & sound. It wouldn't be a road trip without being pulled over. I love that you got a rookie cop!

What's your hubby doing? Is he selling Security? If so with whom? We had so much fun doing summer sales for 4 summers! We lived in DC, Connecticut, Indy and Seattle... I made some life long friends and such incredible memories!!! Keep me updated with your adventures and we'll see you when you get back!

That sucks to get pulled over, but good for you that you got out of the second one. I still can't believe that you're already gone, but glad you made it safe. I'm guessing the boys did ok in the car that long. I don't know how I would do though. Good luck as you start your adventure in Farrrrgo!

Looks like a grand adventure, so cool that you were able to go to Mount Rushmore, a place that Gary and I have always wanted to visit. It stinks that you were pulled over twice, thank goodness you were able to get out of one. Have a great time, it's fun to get away from the norm. Love you guys, be safe...

Yay you made it! I was thinking about you today...thinking 'I really need to call to make sure everything went well'. Sorry I never did :(! Glad you got out of the second ticket! I wasn't so lucky with 2 tickets within 24 hours...$500 later, I had learned a long life lesson :)!
Can't wait to hear more about your adventure!

I tell you what, those granola bars are the WORST! I took them to church once for the kids to snack on... BIG MISTAKE... Glad to hear you made it though; ticket and all! That's just step one in a fun-filled summer adventure!
